BARDO
Accessibility Policy
Last updated: July 2025

At BARDO Inclusive, accessibility is not just a technical requirement — it’s part of who we are. We believe everyone should be able to access, engage with, and benefit from our content, courses, events, and digital spaces, regardless of ability, background, or circumstance.

We are committed to building inclusive, equitable experiences for all users. But we are still learning what that means in reality.
1. Our Commitment
We strive to:
-
Ensure our website and digital content meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard
-
Design learning experiences that are accessible, flexible, and user-friendly
-
Continually review and improve our accessibility practices
-
Provide alternative formats or accommodations on request
-
Listen to feedback and work collaboratively to remove barriers
2. Website Accessibility
We aim to:
-
Use clear and consistent layout and navigation
-
Provide alt text for images and meaningful descriptions for links
-
Ensure strong colour contrast and legible font choices
-
Make forms, videos, and PDFs accessible wherever possible
-
Use plain English and structure content for readability
Our site is tested on a range of devices and browsers. We aim to use accessible HTML/CSS and avoid unnecessary animations or features that may cause difficulty for users with sensory sensitivities. However, we are bound by the technicalities of our providers - but will continue to champion better standards.
3. Course & Event Accessibility
Our digital and in-person learning experiences are designed with inclusivity in mind.
We:
-
Provide captions and transcripts for video/audio where available
-
Avoid information overload and use a variety of learning formats
-
Offer space for participants to indicate access needs on booking forms
-
Use platforms that support screen readers and keyboard navigation (e.g., Zoom, Google Workspace, Thinkific, etc.)
If you require materials in alternative formats (e.g. large print, audio, plain text) or other accommodations, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to meet your needs.
4. Feedback & Reporting Issues
If you experience difficulty accessing any part of our website, content, or services, we want to know. Please contact us so we can investigate and resolve the issue:
Email: georgina@bardo.co.uk
Subject: Accessibility Feedback
We aim to respond to accessibility queries within 5 working days.
5. Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is a journey, not a checkbox.
We commit to:
-
Regularly reviewing this policy and our accessibility performance
-
Staying informed of best practices and evolving standards
-
Consulting with users and experts where needed
-
Embedding accessibility into our everyday decision-making
Thank you
We believe a truly inclusive future is one we create together.
Thank you for helping us make BARDO more accessible for all.
